Software for the digital / Video Microscopes cameras

With your digital microscope, you will receive a CD ROM which contains image acquisition and manipulation software.  It will work on Windows 98, 2000, ME, and XP operating systems.  (Important note: software will work with Win 98, but not when Win 98 is being run on a Pentium IV).

You will also receive a microscope slide with imbedded  calibration "dots".  Once the calibration process is completed, you will be able to make linear or area measurements of any part of your image.  Your choices of units include mm, um or inches. You will receive version 2.0 software with all versions of digital microscopes and microscope digital cameras.

 
Motic Images 2000, Version 2.0 Capabilities
 
 

Most Digital cameras in the market today only give you the ability to capture single frames but the Motic Imaging Products provide you with a vast assortment of funtions.  The software allows you to view live video, capture images and manipulate and measure parameters on them.  Motic Software helps to create a vivid and dynamic teaching aid for instructors as well as precise tools for techinacl use.

 
 
 

Capture

  • Instantly capture still images.
  • Obtain still images at programmed intervals that you set (time lapse).
  • Set live Image size to 1024 x 768, 800 x 600, 640 x 480, or 320 x 240 pixels. (DAC-3 limited to 320X240)
  • Image captures size of 1024 x 768, 800 x 600, 640 x 480, or 320 x 240 pixels.
  • Show full screen real-time live images on your computer.
  • Record images in an AVI movie format detailing development and /or movement of a specimen being watched.
 
       
 
 

Measure

  • Compute entire area or portions of an image.
  • Choose from line (linear) or area: Ellipse, circle, rectangle, irregular shape and polygon measuring tools.
  • Several measurement parameters available including mm, um and inches.
  • Uses an easy & automatic calibration process with enclosed calibration slide.
  • Resave the image with the measurement superimposed on it.
 
         
   

Distance Image Sharing

  • Activate distant image sharing through an internet connection to view real-time images.
  • Share information with a colleague or check an experiment from a remote location.
  • Send and receive images on-line using built-in menus.
  • Choose from the following formats:  JPG, BMP, MIG and TIFF

Combine

  • Captue a batch of images at different focal depths then combine them into a single one-layer clear image.
  • Combine using different methods such as by proportion, subtraction, or addition etc.
 
       
   

Image Processing

  • Process the image with a variety of filters.
  • Adjust brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, red, green, blue.
  • Process effects of Invert, Relief, Sharp, Smooth, Mosaic, Grey, Scale
 
       
   

Paint

  • Draw beelines, circles, rectangles and irregular figures in the current image.
  • Add icons to images.
  • Annotate the images with text.
 
       
   

Record

  • Record audio narration to accompany MIG still-image files.
  • Microscope World technical note:  MIG files are not common so it is likely this program will be the only one that can play them back.
 
       
   

Count

  • Automatic object or cell counting.
  • Slect an area in a captured image and dimension and size information for the cells is counted with just one click.
  • Data can be exported to spreadsheet or database programs for further analysis.
